Job Title: Shop Staff /Snorkel Crew
Pay Rate: Compensation to correspond with experience
Job Type: Full time - Seasonal (June - September, 2022)
Established, busy 5 Star PADI Dive Resort looking to hire highly motivated and enthusiastic Shop Staff / Snorkel Crew.
This individual must have high energy and an interest in Scuba Diving and Snorkeling to act as both Shop staff and Snorkel Crew.
The Dive season generally runs from May to October with Snorkel trips happening daily from mid-June to early September.
Shop duties include, assisting with back of house duties including suiting up customers in rental gear, keeping suits and all equipment organized and hung out to dry as well as ‘flipped’ as needed, performing minor general repairs to equipment as needed, general cleaning and organization of shop and back areas, identifying any shortages of equipment and informing HQ manager or Director of Operations about such needs.
Snorkel crew duties include travelling with snorkel tours including being the lively host on tour and snorkelling with the group, delivering snorkel briefing either while en-route to site or upon arrival at site as appropriate, in-water supervision of snorkelers, must has minimum lifeguard or rescue diver certification, ensuring proper equipment is on board each vessel to assist with snorkelers as needed, assisting with closing duties at end of trips including disembarking with customers, taking them back to snorkel tent area, assisting with removal of gear and organizing for sanitization and preparation for the next tour or next day.
Qualifications:
- Minimum NLS Lifeguard or Rescue Diver Certificate (for snorkel crew aspect)
*Bilingualism is an asset, especially French or Chinese languages.
The location is in scenic Tobermory, Ontario where the clear waters draw a diverse group of divers and snorkelers. Tobermory was listed as one of the 25 Top Travel Destinations in the World in 2021!
