DIVERS DEN STAFF
Michael & Kelly Marcotte
Michael and Kelly took over the ownership of Divers Den in May of 2014. Michael has been the instructor at Divers Den since 1999 and is thrilled at the opportunity to continue his time at the shop as the owner.
They both acquired their Captain’s papers in 2015 and enjoy each season doing a mix of captaining, teaching, running the shop, maintaining equipment and of course, spending time with our customers!
Anne-Marie is a graphic designer, PADI Divemaster and DSD Leader from Quebec City. She has been with Divers Den since 2015 and manager since 2016.
A diver since 2009, her passion for the underwater world has taken her to Asia, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Africa. At this point she has accumulated hundreds of dives in all kind of marine environments. She's a highly flexible, passionate person with a proven experience in diving, hotellerie and in the development of innovative marketing concepts.
John has a long history with Tobermory, his family settling on the Bruce Peninsula four generations ago. Growing up, John spent his summers fishing in the waters around Tobermory and continued the tradition of exploring the waters, with his own family. All his life, he has spent countless hours “messing around in boats”. John now lives here year-round and for the last 10 years, John has captained boats for Divers Den.
Captain John’s first priority is the safety of his passengers to and from their destination on any of the Den’s boats and beneath the water. To enhance the experience and enjoyment of his passengers he relishes in sharing the stories of each site: the boat, its crew and the weather (which is always a factor in boating in the waters around Tobermory). John’s goal is that each diver and snorkeler will always remember their time in Tobermory and want to return for more.
Peter joined the Divers Den team in 2015. A seasoned captain of his own 35ft Carver Mariner he made the transition to the dive boats with ease.
A diver himself, he continues to enjoy his summers on the water with the divers and snorkelers sharing what Tobermory has to offer below the surface.
Like most of us, Rich fell in love with Tobermory from the moment he first set eyes on it. That was back in 1970 when he arrived to complete his first open water certification dives. Since then, he has spent a career working on the Great Lakes as an aquatic and fisheries scientist, research diver and university educator, and he has dived the Tobermory wrecks too many times to mention! Rich's "Happy Place" is anywhere on, in or under the water, and he enjoys helping new and experienced divers alike.
Captain Rich's top priorities are client safety and ensuring that all passengers have an enjoyable aquatic adventure. In addition to over 4 decades of scuba and marine experience, he brings extensive knowledge of the dive sites, local geography and a sense of humour to every charter!
David is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and biologist born in Mozambique, Africa. He became a diver in Spain in the year 2000 and he has been diving around the world since then. Throughout his diving career he has worked in many different milieus, and was operations manager of several dive centers alongside with teaching and guiding dives. This diversity of experience made him a versatile instructor who can adapt to any situation and need.
